Letter to 09 Incoming Freshmen
Dear Freshman and Parents,
We hope you have submitted a photo of yourself for your Georgetown GOCard. If you did not submit your photo, please do so by emailing it with your name & NetID to: GOCard@Georgetown.edu.
So what is your GOCard? The Georgetown University GOCard is your one card solution on and off campus. Sure, it is your official ID card, but it also has great added conveniences guaranteed to make your life easier! Please take a closer look at this website to see all the great benefits this card offers.
When do I get my GOCard? You get your GOCard when you arrive for move-in at the end of August; or if you are a commuter, you will receive it during Orientation. Please make sure to bring a government issued photo ID when you arrive. We do not mail your GOCard.
What is the average deposit made to the GOCard debit account?
$500 - $700 Books
$100 - $150 Supplies
$ 40 - $125 Photocopying/Printing
$125 - $175 Laundry
$150 - $200 Off Campus Dining
What is the best way to make a deposit onto the GOCard debit account? We strongly recommend that you make a deposit BEFORE you arrive at Georgetown in August, in order to avoid long lines. The best way is to use this website to add funds, check your GOCard balance and view your recent transactions. Your parents may even add funds through the "Guest Deposit" option. The funds will be available as soon as you obtain your GOCard.
There you have it! Some big features on a little card! If you still have any questions, please feel free to contact the GOCard office at 202-687-2700 - we will be happy to assist you. Enjoy the rest of your summer and we look forward to seeing you in August.
Sincerely,
Roman Fahrmann
Director, GOCard Services
