New Main Campus Card Design

You will be noticing the new look of GOCard on Main Campus this fall, click here to see all currently valid GOCards.  In coordination with the Office of University Safety and other key stakeholders, the look of the (G)eorgetown (O)ne (Card) has been redesigned to make it easier to visually identify cardholders, their roles, and expiration in the event of an emergency and in interactions with university personnel.

What you need to do?  No specific action is required on your part.  However if your department relies on accepting GOCards for authorization and authentication, be aware of this new design.

Who will receive a new card?  The new card design will be produced for all new Main Campus cardholders, including faculty, staff, students and affiliates.  All existing cardholders will not receive cards, unless they wear out during the normal replacement cycle.

I already have a card, how do I get my new card?  New cards are being provided to all newcomers to the Main Campus. The replacement procedure for existing cards will remain unchanged.  Cards are replaced free of charge if your present card is-
normal wear and tear
name change
status/title change
passing of the printed expiration date

Other reasons such as damage, loss or "just because" will cause the standard $25 replacement fee to be assessed.

The new card looks like a badge, do I need to wear it? Your card is not required to be worn and will not be hole-punched. Carry the card normally, protected in your wallet or other card carrier.

Who do I contact for more information?  Email, GOCard@Georgetown.edu or phone, 202-687-7200.
