The Cardholder may obtain information regarding GOCard Debit Account usage, including the amount of funds remaining in the account, recent transactions or where the GOCard Debit Account was last used, and any new amounts added to the account, by accessing the Online GOCard Office at https://onlinecardoffice.georgetown.edu/ or by visiting one of the GOCard Offices. Account statements will be produced upon request.
Effective January 1, 2012
Inactivity Fee and Abandoned Property. If you do not use your Debit Dollar Account for a continuous period of twelve (12) months (that is, no purchases have been made and/or no money has been added to your account, during that time period, and you have not otherwise communicated in writing to our office concerning the Debit Dollar account, then Georgetown will assess your account a dormant account fee of $5 per month thereafter, as long as your account remains open and inactive.
IF NO ACTIVITY HAS OCCURRED ON YOUR CARD AND YOU HAVE NOT OTHERWISE COMMUNICATED IN WRITING WITH US CONCERNING THE DEBIT DOLLARS ON YOUR GOCARD FOR A CONTINUOUS PERIOD OF MORE THAN THIRTY-SIX (36) MONTHS, UNDER D.C. LAW YOUR DEBIT DOLLARS WILL BE DEEMED ABANDONED PROPERTY THAT GEORGETOWN MUST DELIVER TO THE D.C. GOVERNMENT. WHEN THE VALUE OF YOUR ACCOUNT EQUALS OR EXCEEDS $50 AND GEORGETOWN HAS AN ADDRESS FOR YOU THAT IS NOT DOCUMENTED TO BE INACCURATE, GEORGETOWN WILL SEND NOTICE TO THAT ADDRESS BEFORE DELIVERING THE FUNDS TO THE D.C. GOVERNMENT. IF GEORGETOWN HAS DELIVERED YOUR DEBIT DOLLARS TO THE D.C. GOVERNMENT, YOU MUST SEEK THE FUNDS FROM THE D.C. GOVERNMENT DIRECTLY. INTERNET SEARCH ENGINES ARE AVAILABLE TO ASSIST YOU (FOR EXAMPLE, HTTP://WWW.UNCLAIMED.ORG).
