GOCard Information for New Students
Note: Non-credit and consortium students do not require and do not receive a GOCard, unless the sponsoring department requires them and provides funding.
Uploading a Photo
To start the process of getting your GOCard, you’ll need to upload a valid photo for your GOCard at least 2 weeks prior to your arrival. Just log in at the GU360 Web site, and then click on GOCard Photo Upload. (Note: You’ll see this option only if you’re missing a GOCard photo or you qualify for a Mobile GOCard.) Make sure to review our requirements for GOCard photo submission.
New students at the Main Campus, Law Center, and School of Continuing Studies (degree-seeking students) receive the Mobile GOCard—Georgetown’s virtual ID card on your iOS or Android mobile device.
When using your GOCard for the first time, it may take a few minutes to synchronize your credentials. If you receive an “access denied” indicator on the hotel-style on-door locks, you may need to wait a few minutes and try to tap again. If you have waited over 5 minutes and are still receiving an “access denied” indicator, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or your residential staff who can assist you with access.
New students at the School of Medicine, School of Nursing and Health Studies, and Biomedical Graduate Education receive a physical GOCard.
