GOCard Information for New Students

Note: Non-credit and consortium students do not require and do not receive a GOCard, unless the sponsoring department requires them and provides funding.

Uploading a Photo

To start the process of getting your GOCard, you’ll need to upload a valid photo for your GOCard at least 2 weeks prior to your arrival. Just log in at the GU360 Web site, and then click on GOCard Photo Upload. (Note: You’ll see this option only if you’re missing a GOCard photo or you qualify for a Mobile GOCard.) Make sure to review our requirements for GOCard photo submission.

Mobile GOCard

New students at the Main Campus, Law Center, and School of Continuing Studies (degree-seeking students) receive the Mobile GOCard—Georgetown’s virtual ID card on your iOS or Android mobile device.

When using your GOCard for the first time, it may take a few minutes to synchronize your credentials. If you receive an “access denied” indicator on the hotel-style on-door locks, you may need to wait a few minutes and try to tap again. If you have waited over 5 minutes and are still receiving an “access denied” indicator, please contact help@georgetown.edu or your residential staff who can assist you with access.

Physical GOCard

New students at the School of Medicine, School of Nursing and Health Studies, and Biomedical Graduate Education receive a physical GOCard.
